Restaurant Style Dinner at Home

My favorite restaurant quality dishes at home...

After a summer filled with travelling, nights outs, and nights with friends, I find myself torn between a night in and a night out. I have been loving the delicious meals out, but I miss my house and I miss cooking. So what's the answer - restaurant quality dinner party at home!! I love inviting people over and having them taste test new recipes for me. Want to join me for dinner??

So, the first question I asked myself was: what would be the perfect dinner out? Do you want to guess the answer???

Beef Tenderloin

That's right - STEAK! Am I right to say that there is nothing like a good restaurant steak? (Appologies to all the vegatarians out there). But steaks never really turn out quite as good at home...

This is so simple, just 4 ingredients:
1. Tenderloin
2. Italian Seasoning
3. Butter
4. Garlic

Yet...so so flavorful! If you are willing to spend the money on a good cut of meat, this is better than any restaurant steak you can find! Check out the simple recipe here, under Beef Tenderloin.

What's next? Great mushrooms with a flavorful gravy!

Creamed Mushrooms

Everyone knows that steaks are better with mushrooms. Well...everyone except my husband I guess. My aunt shared a fabulous Creamed Mushroom recipe. They work as a side dish, or a gravy on top of the meat. In my family, these are a special Chrismas treat. And what a treat they are! And best of all, trust me when I say that anyone can make them!!

And to round out the meal, a great steak needs a great potato. Thanks to my grandma, I have the BEST Twiced Baked Potato recipe on the planet! I honestly don't even bother to order them at restaurants I am so spoiled! YUM.

For this recipe, I do have to admit they are a bit more tedious than the other two above. These take some time, and some patience to make. But I absolutely promise you that they are worth it!

Want more restaurant quality fair? I highly recommend:

  • Strawberry Onion Salad with homemade dressing

  • Fabulous French Onion Soup
