Kewpee Chili

Ingredients

Kewpee Chili

2 cup Onion (chopped)

2 cup Celery (chopped)

2 cup Water

1 Tbs Salt

1 Tbs Sugar

3/4 tsp Garlic Powder

3/4 tsp Cayenne Pepper

2 Tbs Chili Powder

4 1/2 cup Tomatoes (ground or diced)

3 cup Kidney Beans

1-2 pound Ground Beef


Directions

Brown ground beef; drain.
Set beef aside.
Place onions, celery, and water in a stock pot.
Bring to a boil until onions are clear.
Add seasonings, tomatoes, and juice from kidney beans.
Stir beef into stock pot.
Bring mixture up to 165° or until you see bubble on top.
Turn down to a simmer.
Simmer for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.
Add kidney beans; simmer long enough to heat them through.
Can be served immediately, or refridgerated/frozen for future use.

This is the recipe my family served at their restaurant, and many people rave about it. So I'm sure it is good. Unfortunately, to be honest, I am not a big chili person in general. And while I'm sure this is good, I prefer the bolder flavors of the WW Chili recipe I have over this, as does my husband. Sorry mom & dad!
