Apricot Glaze for Ham
Adapted From: Betty Crocker

Ingredients

Apricot Glaze for Ham

1/2 cup Brown Sugar (packed)

1 Tbs Cornstarch

1/2 tsp Ginger

1/4 tsp Salt

1 can Apricot Nectar (12 oz)

1 Tbs Lemon Juice

Directions

Mix brown sugar, cornstarch, ginger, and salt in a small saucepan.
Stir in apricot nectar and lemon juice.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture thickens and boils.
Boil and stir for 1 minute.
Remove the ham from oven 30 minutes before it is done.
Pour drippings from pan and remove any skin from ham.
Score ham surface lightly, cutting uniform diamond shapes.
If desired, insert whole clove into each criss-cross. (Cloves add a very distinct flavor!)
Pat or brush on glaze mixture.
Continue baking for 30 minutes.

(Glaze is enough for a 4 pound ham.)

Katie Dishes - One Thumb Up

I'm not a ham fan, nor am I an appricot fan. But, in the name of honesty on my website, and mostly because I needed a picture, I decided to try this for Easter this year. I was pleasantly suprised. The appricot flavor was suble, and mixed very well with the distinct taste of ham. While I'll probably never make it again, I would definitely recommend it to people who like ham.
