Katie Dishes - Two Thumbs WAY Up!

I'm not much of a sweet tooth, nor am I a chocolate person, but these are one of my all time favorite cookies. They are the perfect combination of cakey and chewy gooness. The recipe has been a family favorite for years. For every birthday or bake sale, people literally beg my Aunt Mary to make them.

Being less of a chocolate person, I started subbing 1/2 butterscotch chips back in my college days, and everyone loved the change up. This is a very unexpected and suprising mix. If you're nervous about it, you can do a whole cup of chocolate instead of butterscotch. But I promise if you try it, you will become a believer!

The original recipe also calls for 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts. They can easily be added or removed based on your preference.
