French Apple Pie (with crumb topping)

Ingredients

French Apple Pie (with crumb topping)

Prepared Pastry (for 9 inch, 1 crust pie)

3/4 cup Sugar

1/4 cup Flour

1/2 tsp Nutmeg

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

1 dash Salt

6 cup Apple (tart)

1 cup Flour

1/2 cup Butter (cold & firm)

1/2 cup Brown Sugar (packed)


Directions

Pre-heat oven to 425°.
Prepare pastry.
Pare and thinly slice the apples.
Stir together sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt.
Mix with apples.
Turn into pastry-lined pie pan.
Mix together flour, butter, and brown sugar until crumbly.
Top pie with crumbly mixture.
Bake total of 50 minutes or until crust is brown and juice begins to bubble through crumbly top.
Cover with foil last 10 minutes of baking IF the top browns too quickly.
