French Fries (Homemade)
Adapted From: Web

Ingredients

French Fries (Homemade)

4 Potatoes (russet, large and peeled)

Vegetable Oil

dash Salt

dash Pepper

Directions

Bring a large pot of water to a boil
Peel potatoes
Cut into french fry sized strips (as thick or thin as you like)
Place in boiling water, and cook for 5 minutes
Remove from water, place on baking sheet lined with paper towels to drain
Cool completely before frying.

Heat oil to 375. I pan fry since I usually make these with fish and there is already a pan ready, but they would do fine in a Deep fryer as well.
Place potoates in the oil. To keep the oil temperature up, it is best to do these in batches instead of all at once.
Cook until golden and crisp, 5-10 minutes depending upon thickness of fries.
Remove from oil, and drain on paper towel or drying rack.
Season with salt

Katie Dishes - One Thumb Up

Very good and fairly easy! Nothing to write home about, just simple, crispy fries.

Next time, I might try to season them with garlic salt, or seasoning salt before frying to see if it adds anything. Let me know if you try it and have any recommendations...
