Adapted From: Web

Ingredients

Beer Battered Fish

4 Walleye Filets (or cod, or other white fish)

3/4 cup Flour (divided)

2/3 cup Beer (preferably ale)

1 Egg

1 1/2 tsp Baking Powder

dash Salt

dash Pepper

Vegetable Oil (about 3/4 inch deep in fry pan)

Directions

Whisk together 1/2 cup flour, beer, egg, and baking powder
In another bowl, combine 1/4 cup flour, salt, and pepper
Pour about 3/4 inch of vegetable oil in the bottom of a fry pan
Heat oil on medium heat. Oil should be hote enough to fry, but not hot enough to splash all over when adding fish. If you have an oil termometer, about 375 degrees.
Dredge fish in the flour mix, shake off excess
Dredge fish in beer batter bath
Place fish directly in hot oil
Cook 2-3 minutes (until golden brown).
Flip, and cook an additional 2-3 minutes on the flip side (again, until golden brown).
Remove from oil, and place on a paper towel or rack to drain
Serve with Tarter Sauce and lemon wedges.

Katie Dishes - Two Thumbs Up

This recipe successfully filled my fish craving! The batter was very crisp, but still very light. It wasn't over powering, or overly greasey, or too filling. It was delicious!

I might add a little more salt to the batter, but other than that, it was great. I think it turned out better than what I could gt at a Friday night fish fry at most restaurants in town!

Make sure you try it with Tarter Sauce, and "Chips". Perfect restaurant quality meal in.
