Ground Beef Casserole

Ingredients

Ground Beef Casserole

2 cup Corkscrew Macaroni

1 pound Ground Beef

3/4 cup Green Pepper (optional; chopped)

1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup (10 3/4 oz)

1 can Tomatoes (whole; 14 1/2 oz)

3/4 cup Cheddar Cheese (shredded)

3/4 tsp Salt

1 can French Fried Onions (3 oz, Durkee brand preferred)


Directions

Preheat oven to 350°.
Cook macaroni as directed on package.
Drain.
Brown ground beef with green pepper.
Drain.
Combine all ingredients, except Durkee French Fried Onions.
Pour into 2 - quart casserole.
Cover.
Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
Uncover.
Top with Durkee French Fried Onions
Bake 5 minutes longer or until onions are lightly browned.

This was a staple in my house growing up. I have very fond memories of it. When I made it as an adult, it didn't completely live up to my memories. But it was still a good family meal.
