Broccoli Rice Casserole
Adapted From: Grandma K


Ingredients

1 can Cream of Chicken Soup

1 jar Cheese Whiz (8 oz)

1/2 cup Onion (chopped)

6 Tbs Margarine (or butter, 3/4 stick)

1 1/2 cup Rice (cooked)

20 ounce Broccoli (frozen)


Directions

Preheat oven to 350°.
Take broccoli out of freezer 20 minutes ahead of preparation so it can separate.
Combine all ingredients.
Put in 9 x 13 inch pan.
Bake at 350° for 1 hour - covered.

I love this side dish. This is not quite as overwhelmingly cheesy as some other cheese covered vegetable dishes. The rice adds great texture, and the soup calms down the flavor of the cheese whiz. Excellent side dish to bring to a pot luck!

Alteration:
I love my Aunt Mary's recipe for Broccoli Cheese Casserole as well. Often times, I cannot decide between the two, so I combine them. I like the rice in this one, but I add the cracker crumb topping from the other one. Excellent marriage of the two!
