Scalloped Potatoes

Ingredients

2 Tbs Butter (or margarine)

2 Tbs Flour

1 tsp Salt

1 dash Pepper

1 1/2 cup Milk

4-5 Potatoes (pealed and thinly sliced)

2-3 Tbs Onion (finely chopped)

1 tsp Butter (or margarine)


Directions

Preheat oven to 350°
Melt 2 Tbs butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
Cook over low heat, stirring until smooth and bubbly.
Remove from heat.
Add milk.
Stir with a wire whisk until all lumps are gone.
Return to stovetop.
Heat, stirring constantly until sauce begins to thicken.
Remove from heat; set aside.
In a greased casserole dish, layer half the potatoes, all the onion, and half the sauce.
Top with the remaining potatoes and sauce.
Dot top with 1 tsp butter.
Cover and bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
Uncover and bake until potatoes are tender and lighly browned, about 35 minutes.
